Food Eaten, Games Watched...Time to Get Back to History

I added another game on quia http://www.quia.com/jw/185514.html this is a word scramble of the 1930s that you need to know for the test. Once you unscramble the word look through your notes to find the meaning.

A few other things you need to know for the test...

  • Three presidents of the 1920s: Harding, Coolidge and Hoover
  • the New Deal was created by FDR to provide RELIEF, RECOVERY and REFORM
  • Shantytowns - temporary housing from wood crates and other leftover materials
  • the Teapot Dome Scandal illegal leasing of oil resrves to private oil companies (Harding)
  • Three things that brought prosperity and encourage economic growth: Lower taxes of wealthy corporations, enforcement of anti-trust laws; higher protective tariffs
  • The assemby line provided lower priced consumer goods and products
  • Henry Ford used it for cars so everyday people could afford them
  • Industries that boomed because of the automobile: gas stations, motels, road side cafes
  • What gave consumers the ability to buy? rise of disposal income and buy on credit.
  • Four stages of the business cycle: prosperity, recession, depression and recovery (know what each step means)
  • Dust Bowl was a 7 year drought on the Great Plains.
  • The author that wrote the "Grapes of Wrath" - John Steinbeck
  • Four causes of the Great Depression - buy on margin, overproduction of goods, decline of agriculture products and high protective tariffs

I hope this helps you to study. Remember this is a short 6 Weeks!!!

Please post a question, I will keep checking...
