My previous draft was Found!! Here's a few more answers....
Spanish American War/Imperialism:
George Dewey was the admiral that went from Hong Kong to the Philipines to lead the attack against Spain (yes, in the Philipines). Tenth Negro Calvary (African-Americans were still segregated into their own units and will remain that way until the Korean War) helped the Rough Riders capture San Juan Hill in CUBA. Theodore Roosevelt, in our timeline for now, started off as the assistant naval Secretary which he resigned to join the army to fight Spain in Cuba. He was second in command of the Rough Riders which their victory gave him the national spotlight. He became the Vice President on the ticket with William McKinley and wehn McKinley was assinated, Roosevelt became the youngest President. He also needs to be remembered for the Panama Canal and Big Stick Diplomacy. Alfred T. Mahan wrote the book on Sea Power showing that strong and powerful countries of the past have strong powerful navies. Henry Cabot Lodge and Theodore Roosevelt strongly support this best selling book. William McKinley was the president when we declared war on Spain (remember the Delome Letter that the Spanish Ambassador claimed that McKinley was weak).
The Spanish American War was fought in the Phillipines and Cuba against Spain. We wanted to free Cuba. We wanted to free Cuba!! The Treaty of Paris ended the war (mentioned in last blog entry). THE UNITED STATES BECAME A WORLD POWER!!!!!
